If you want to feel great, rid your body of cellulite or simple shed some unwanted pounds caused by inflammation, a cleanse is a great way to begin the process. Cleanses are a dietary secret that can really accelerate and optimize results of any goal you have that involves a nutrition program. The key reason I use them is to purify the body, assist in ridding it of toxins and reset the metabolism. My nutrition programs are much more effective this way and mentally it preps clients for what mindset they need. The benefits involve some weight loss for those who need it, removal of debris in digestive tract and waste in other vital organs. Once it is complete a successful cleanse will give you a renewed feeling and energy. It awakens the whole body on a cellular level and is a great way to create a fresh start mentality before beginning any new program.
It is important that if you are considering this or have attempted a cleanse and did not endure its duration, that you do understand the importance of working through some normal discomfort. Many panic and quit cleanses in fear that this is not normal. Some quit due to lack of discipline. The same cleanse is not right for everyone. Each person must be assessed and their approach to cleansing should consider their health, goals, symptoms and lifestyle. Giving respect and a full commitment to a cleanse is for the great benefits. The by far outweigh not doing a cleanse or quitting altogether. Many people focuses on them for weight loss. Cleanses dig much deeper intot he body so that weight loss is more rapid and possible longer term.
A cleanse takes a certain mindset and focus. This is why I start some clients early on a program, repeat it later in the program and some will not even attempt one until they show they have the discipline to handle an organized meal plan. This is a mental and physical process. One does not work witihout the other. If I feel someone is not ready, then later in the process usually works and their commitment and understand of why they are doing it, is much better. It is a test of discipline and a lot of anxiety and ‘crap” will come up and out that will make you question whether this is really healthy. All that is normal, however, there are things that are not. I have to date not had anyone experience any abnormal symptoms with the cleanses I suggest, only panic attacks or a dislike over the process. Many who quit are in disbelief that it is not a bad product or allergry to something and simply toxins passing and thank god they are. Headaches, sweats, nausea, flu like symptoms, loose stools, fatigue, weakness, etc. are all actually normal. I know that doesn’t sound very exciting, but would you rather walk around with toxins that will lead to cancer and other diseases down the road. If you really want weight loss long term you must get vital nutrients. You can not if your system is not pure! The more symptoms the more the process is in action. However, I do what I can to support my clients if they experience this. It is amazing how clients will be on the same cleanse and have completely different side effects. One is dying on the toilet, while another feels nothing really at all. The ones dying are usually the heavier clients or past addicts and the ones gracefully moving through a cleanse usually are healthier and leaner overall.
Products that are in the cleanses that I select for my clients will ensure that the body will move through all stages properly. I suggest already prepared kits at times and sometimes I itemize things for them. Some do not get any products and just cleanse through meal programs. They must trust that my experience tells me what is best for each individual.
Here are what I consider the Stages & Importance of them:
Stage one: Is all the on the watery like fluids, surface toxins and gook that floats in it. Diarrhea occurs usually because this is similar to what the substance looks like being eliminated.
Stage two: Is getting to the top layer of the stuff that lines the digestive tract and is mucus like substance. This is what blocks nutrients from getting in.
Stage three: Excavating the deep layer of toxins that accumulate, usually darker in color & thicker. Tarlike or almost black color.
Think of the ocean and the bottom debris that the bottom dwelling fish eat and pick up. The cleanse is got stuff in it that is like a charcoal that picks up the more stubborn stuff, but it can not do this if you stop right when it just hit the surface only.
It is not effective by stopping and starting and really can hurt the process and your body. You must be committed through it’s duration of at least 7 days. Some clients require more or less time. You will shock your body by stopping a cleanse without a meal plan that is set up to help you wean off the cleanse. You do not just want to stop and return to normal eating. If you do this, expect your digestive tract to react unfavorably! Bloating, gas and cramping can occur. Plus, you erase all you just did. I will help you ease back into normal eating in a way that supports your body.. Online is a lot of additional information on what to expect and what is not normal. I am always thankful when I go through a real purification process because this means it is working and there are a lot of odd things that happen, but I trust it. It is short term though. The cleanses I give people to do are very mild in comparison to some very intense cleanses out there. I am being considerate of your lifestyle.
I highly suggest that before suddenly quitting it is always been best to reach out to me to share what the symptoms are. I could help curb them or give you some suggestions. I may actually switch your product or something you are eating to curb the symptoms. I need to be aware of what your body can and can not tolerate. Depending on how toxic your system too can increase the side effects.
Cleanses are a great way to purify the body. Here is why:
Toxins are in the food we eat, water we drink, put on our body daily and in the environment
All the cleaning agents, toxins (additives & chemicals) shell fish (mercury & deep sea toxins) in foods and the environment, food eaten while out that has bacteria through the years needs to be expelled and there are always side effects with cleanses. .The digestive tract winds up clogged with all this debris and it poisons the bodies systems and ability to absorb vital nutrients.
Cleanses help the metabolism
A better metabolism is just a byproduct of a cleanse because your organs and cellular systems function better after. You can receive the nutrients and fluids your body needs. The Weight Loss many experience is due to how they are eating during a cleanse. The diet is lighter and less calories over all. The weight loss is usually only fluids and little fat. Purifying your body in this way, helps get rid of stuff that causes a poor cellular reaction. Things that are not organic in nature contribute to weight gain and poor results. This includes body lotions loaded with dyes and chemicals. Imagine how many chemicals are in your system if you do your nails, hair, get botox, clean with unnatural cleaning agents, wash your clothes with laundry detergent full of chemicals, spray perfume on daily, etc. All these things contribute to the degeneration of our bodies environment.
Cleanses can focus on just digestion or can work on specific organs. I focus on the entire body to begin and then move my clients down the road into more specific cleanses as I learn more about things they may be suffering from or symptoms they are having.
If you are suffering from Bowel issues. Here are some common contributors:
1. Emotionally – Also anxiety can be a big component of that. There is a very big mind body connection to constipation – not being willing to move forward from the past. The work you are doing with Maryke is perfect to help you process through these stuck emotions and handle anxiety in a healthier way so it doesn’t get stuck in the body.
2. Prescription or over the counter medications
3. Menopause or PMS– will enhance the probelm
4. Toxins – Botox, acrylics, hair dyes, chemicals on foods, chemicals in lotions, cleaning products that are not natural, hormones in what we eat, pollution, mercury, aluminum, etc….Begin thinking in terms of natural beauty and beauty products that support the bodies enviornment. We are seeking antiaging remedies yet we are rapidly aging the body by these additives in our regime.
To support your Detox/Cleanse/Purification Process – whatever you want to call it. Brushing your body with a boar bristle brush daily or at least every other day (as they do in spas) helps the cells purify. It is highly suggested you do yoga, walking, light weight training, meditation and pilates. DO NOT counteract your efforts by using any perfumes or lotions with chemicals, cleaning agents that are not natural, eating inorganic foods, etc. or how can you really seal the deal? Be religious about this time and think through all your daily routines. Be mindful. That is what this mentally teaches clients is AWARENESS so they can decide down the road what they are willing to sacrifice to stay healthy & manage their metabolism. It is a time to purify your system and be very careful of all you are putting in and onto your skin, hair, etc. No botox or nails should be done while in these stages. Your skin is a large organ and it can not purify if it is reclogged with crap. It is up to you to decide how far you take this, but this is how I approach cleanses. It is such a rejuventing opportunity. I love the benefits after I succeed with a cleanse. There is a renewal that takes place on a deep cellular and mental level. I see the sparkle in my clients right after. They look healthier and less fatigued.
If you are one who has bowel issues. This is a warning sign of the following possible health issues. I highly suggest you take this seriously since these problems lead to very serious health issues downt he road. Do not take it for granted. For instance, constipation is a sign that your food is moving slowly through your lower large intestine for some reason. Do something about it? Figure it out fast because your body must eliminate toxins or it will poison you!
I suspect the following in order may be a culprit for Constipation, especially if a gentle laxative or cleanse does not resolve the problem:
1. Thyroid is low and you may have too high of calcium. Ask your doc about these two things together.
2. Fissures, thrombosis, hemmroids, polyps, structural issues, bowel & colon cancer.Sometimes there are pockets of bacteria that cause infection – a Lower GI test or Colonoscapy can rule these things out.
3. Kidney’s are not functioning properly.
4. Diabetes – Does it run in your family?
Talk to your doctor if you are suspicious of anything or notice your symptoms worsens.
Here are things I suggest my clients add in or I will consider on their meal plans that support there elimination process:
1. Add more fiber in the diet (even more than you are taking – veggies, plant foods, fruits) If you take a supplement it must be a soluble powder form with water. It softens stools better. If you are taking anything that is called INSOLUBLE – STOP (that adds bulk to stools).
2. Take 2000-5000 mgs of Vitamin C daily with bioflavonoids – has a cleansing and healing effect.
3. Green Vibrance – 1-2 scoops per day (mandatory) – eliminates toxins
4. Omega 3 Oil – flaxseed, primrose and EPA’s (as directed on bottle)
5. Multi enzyme Complex – Will aid with digestion (follow directions on bottle)
6. Take 10,000 IU DAILY – Multi that has NO IRON! – make sure it has Vitamin A & mixed carotenoids
7. B-Complex – 50 mg (3x per day) and additional B12 – helps metabolize fat
8. Drink 1 cap to 1/2 cup of Aloe Vega juice in the morning and at night – stool softener
9. Take Milk Thistle as it directs on label – helps the liver excrete bile/Softens stools.
10. Drink Yerbe Mate Tea all day long! Try different versions of it for taste. – It helps with energy & metabolism
And probiotics are great for digestive health overall! Trust your gut on what you feel your body can benefit from, but also have it backed up by experts.
